the blue electric fan
is plugged into the bedroom wall
oscillating
surveying
repeating
and moving the air
the open window doesn't notice
as the product of his hard work
passes through her
the curtains respond
waving pale arms gently
like southern girls
on homecoming floats
the blossoms on the tree respond
sending messages back
mostly pollen,
making the sleeper inside
sneeze each morning
but this is masked by a sweet scent
so most is forgiven
the window stays open
but stares blankly
"she doesn't realize what
she does for me
but i will tell her
when she is ready to listen"
and humming and rotating
the fan keeps at it
every night.
